About us

Ruby loves creating group experiences. She has a natural curiosity for human behaviour and is drawn to creating safe spaces for personal growth and connection. She has been teaching & studying yoga in Sydney, Byron Bay & Amsterdam for over 7 years and coaches teams and leaders as part of culture change programs in organisations. She is obsessed with the ocean, so during winter you will find her dreaming about and planning her next surf holiday or retreat. Ruby is the driving force behind the yoga & self development program and has hosted several retreats.

Thijs loves bringing people together and is the driving force behind the Sukacita Community - good company is what gets him up in the morning. Thijs has a big love for water sports like kitesurfing and surfing, loves travelling the world and with his no-stress and easy-going attitude, he blends in with the Aussies naturally. Besides being Sukacita’s host, he feels drawn to the power of breath and is a certified breathcoach. After having experienced the powerful effects of breathwork himself, he feels committed to personal growth and facilitating positive change in the lives of those around him.

“No guts, no glory”

Our mission

  • Through the practices of surfing and yoga, we inspire our community to feel more connected to their body & heart, moving away from mental fog. We believe these (superfun!) practices help us to access deeper layers such as our intuition to tap into what it is that we need and want in life, so we can take conscious steps in the right direction.

  • Part of our mission is to find a sense of connection through community. Meeting new people is important to us, as well as fostering meaningful and deep connections with those around us. We believe feeling truly connected to those around us is crucial to a sense of happiness and belonging.

  • Finally, our retreats are more than just a fun getaway. We like to add a little more depth to our retreats and inspire increased awareness, through a journey of self-discovery, using breathwork, meditations, individual and/or group reflection time.
